Mia Pomodori is owned by Paul DeSantis, a native of Brooklyn, NY who knows pizza. He grew up watching his mother cook which fostered his love for cooking. His parents were immigrants of Bari, Italy who came to the States and brought some amazing recipes with them. DeSantis puts his heart and soul in every pizza he makes and if you have ever tried his pizza you can believe it.
The restaurant is located on the corner of Rutledge avenue and Cannon street. It has a small inside dining area but offers a great outside patio. Also, with their very fast delivery and reasonable prices I strongly recommend anyone in the neighborhood trying this spot. As a New Yorker who prides himself and his knowledge of pizza it has been difficult to find a good pie on the peninsula but Pomodori has given me hope. The calzones at Mia Pomodori are awesome too. I’ve spoken with the owner a couple times and love the fact that he prepares just about everything fresh in-house.
