Beach House finds love on Isle of Palms

I just received word from my beach house buyers from Chicago that they have completed a renovation of their lovely front beach home on Ocean blvd Isle of Palms.  After doing a huge amount of research, I took my out of town buyers straight to their dream home.  It was literally the first house we saw and nothing else compared!  With a little paint and creativity, they have really turned it into a show place. Sometimes learning the market and spotting a deal can really make Real Estate magic happen. Check it out on East Island Rentals and stay the week for a beach vacation sometime in this lovely oceanfront contemporary.

Restaurant Clients: HoM: Are we there yet

Last year I spent months seeking the perfect location for an ultra hip ping pong and gourmet burger restaurant.  My clients were very particular and that I’m sure will show when they open their new Charleston foodie hot spot.  Check them out on their cool new website www.HoMCharleston.com Here is an update on the much anticipated HoM at 563 King St

Here’s a quick construction update…things are moving along nicely. The walls are getting closed up this week as tile gets installed. The new storefront / entrance (think big glass) is coming in two weeks and the walk-in cooler and kitchen equipment are set to be installed the week of June 6.

Master in Equity Sales How to Realtor CHarleston Sc

Short sales, foreclosures, master in equity auctions, oh my!  These and other factors are turning the Real Estate market into a tornado of uncertainty….the result, we are not in Kansas anymore.  At an engagement party in downtown Charleston, I had a typical cocktail conversation with a potential buyer.  He knew the neighborhood he and his wife wanted, and he new the price they would pay would not get them there.  “Call me if one in Longborough ever comes on the market for less than 400″ he said.   “Fat chance, right?”  A year and a half later, he and his wife are moving into their new downtown Charleston home.  The specs:  4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, three stories, back garden, etc. etc.  How did it happen…tenacity!  After what felt like years of looking, but was really 6 months, the three of us had exhausted ourselves and the available homes.  Finally, my client stumbled upon the master in equity list one night doing a late night internet search.  “The address rang a bell because we had put in an offer across the street”, he commented later.  We immediately made an appointment to see the house that we had previously avoided because it was listed for $200k out of their price range.  About two weeks of research later, my clients and I went to the county courthouse not knowing what to expect.  Within a few minutes the bidding was over and they had the home “under contract”.  With a 5% non refundable deposit at risk the next thirty days were a bit of a scramble, but with the help of my Real Estate dream team, banker Josh Feldman and attorney Lisa Herbert, things went very smoothly!  Yesterday they moved into their new home in Longborough, a beautiful new home development on the Ashley River on the downtown Charleston Peninsula.  Call me to find out more about out of reach dream homes and how to bring them into your grasp!  Currie 843-853-2004

Kelli Hoff joins Tabula Rasa Salon

Kelli Hoff stylist Tabula Rasa Salon 125 Cannon St, downtown Charleston Sc

Kelli Hoff a talented stylist joined Tabula Rasa Salon in April

This week I got to meet the new girl on Cannon St, Kelli Hoff.  Kelli joined the team at Tabula Rasa Salon in downtown Charleston at 125 Cannon St, just a couple of weeks ago.  Despite her new girl status, Kelli is making waves, she recently competed for and won a spot on the hair and make up team at Charleston Fashion Week, an experience she describes as grueling but exhilarating.  As she brushes the hair behind the ear lobe of her perfectly coiffed client, she beams confidently.  “I am doing what I love, in a city I love, who could complain?”
Kelli is a South Carolina native, born in myrtle beach.. but raised in Charlottesville, VA.  She started working in a salon as an assistant at 16, and traveled and trained with my boss/mentor to Chicago, NYC, Atlanta,  DC, Orlando, and sooo many other east coast cities. ( where she was taught extensive color trends and techniques) in the mean time Kelli  attended beauty school and receiving her license in 2003 afterwards she moved to San Diego where she worked, trained and did the hair color for a stylist that trained with Vidal Sassoon who had worked in the heart of Beverly Hills for 25 yrs.   Kelli moved back to Charleston SC in 2010 and currently is a Matrix artistic educator. which allows her to travel and work with stylists that are as passionate about hair as she is!
